چکیده
The presence of heavy metals in the environment as a consequence human activity is an issue that has caught attention researchers to find wastewater treatment solutions, such adsorption. In this work, hydrochars and activated carbon microspheres are prepared from tangerine peels precursor FeCl3 activating structure-directing agent hydrothermal carbonization, allowing obtain hydrochar ranging 50 3615 nm. addition, pyrochar was by pyrolysis same precursor. shows highest surface area (SBET up 287 m2 g–1), but basicity (1.83 mmol g−1, SBET = 104 g–1) determinant adsorption Ni, being considered carbon-based material with uptake capacity Ni. Isotherm kinetic Ni on most representative microsphere, microsphere assessed 10 7 models, respectively.

Adsorption of copper, lead and cadmium from aqueous solutions by activated carbon prepared from saffron leaves
Background: Industrial development has caused the release of various pollutants including heavy metals into the environment. These toxic compounds are extremely dangerous to living beings and the environment due to their non-biodegradability, severe toxicity, carcinogenicity, the ability to be accumulated in nature and the ability to contaminate groundwater and surface water. The aim of the pre...

In this work, a low-cost activated carbon as well as non-hazardous material, with high adsorption capacity, was prepared from Melia azedarach fruit (MF) by ZnCl2 activation for the removal of Pb(II) toxic metal from aqueous solutions. The microstructure of the activated carbon was observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Batch experiments have been performed as a function of pH, contact ...
متن کاملUltralight carbon nanofoam from naphtalene-mediated hydrothermal sucrose carbonization
We report experimental studies of carbon nanofoam produced using a hydrothermal autoclave reactor with a sucrose solution and a small added amount of naphthalene. The foam has an average density of 85 mg/cc and is uniform in its appearance. He-ion microscopy (HeIM), Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize the foam samples. These show good consiste...

متن کاملDiamond-Like Carbon Nanofoam from Low-Temperature Hydrothermal Carbonization of a Sucrose/Naphthalene Precursor Solution
Unusual structure of low-density carbon nanofoam, different from the commonly observed micropearl morphology, was obtained by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of a sucrose solution where a specific small amount of naphthalene had been added. Helium-ion microscopy (HIM) was used to obtain images of the foam yielding micron-sized, but non-spherical particles as structural units with a smooth foam...
